Vallee Blanche

The Vallee Blanche is probably one of the most famous off-piste runs in the world and offers an unforgettable and challenging run at high altitude in the heart of the Mont Blanc Massif.  Starting from the Aiguille du Midi the run is over 20km long with a vertical drop of over 2500m.

You pass through some of the most stunning mountain scenery, seeing many of the famous mountains of the Mont Blanc Massif such as Mont Blanc du Tacul, Dent du Geant, Grandes Jorasses and Les Drus.

There are several different ski routes that are possible from the Classic Vallee Blanche to the steeper routes of the Grand Envers du Plan.  If you wish to ski the Vallee Blanche or any of the runs from the Aiguille du Midi, we require that you ski at least one day of off-piste with the guide beforehand.  The reason we do this, is because the terrain from the Aiguille du Midi is very committing and it is important that the guide is familiar with your skiing ability for safety reasons.  This will also allow us to ski one of the more challenging routes, which as a strong skier is usually more interesting.

However, keep in mind that we do not guarantee that you will get to ski from the Aiguille du Midi.  We choose where to ski each day based on the current conditions and go wherever the skiing is best. If the conditions are not ideal on the Aiguille du Midi we will not go up there.  With that said, we would be happy to show you a few good days of skiing around Chamonix.

For most descents of the Vallee Blanche we prefer to ski with a maximum of 4 skiers to 1 guide. However, we can ski with up to 6 skiers for a run on the Classic Vallee Blanche route when it is in easy conditions.

Please contact us for prices for individual days and private group arrangements and to ask any questions you may have about skiing this route.
