Alpine Ski Touring

Spring is the prime season for ski touring and peak descents.  Whether you are interested in one of the classic ski tours such as the Haute Route, Berner Oberland, and Ortler, or something more off the beaten path, we can put together a great ski touring adventure for you.  We also guide ski descents of great peaks such as Mont Blanc and the Grand Paradiso. Our trips are offered on a custom basis only.  You put together a group of friends (up to 6 people) and pick the dates, and we will take care of the rest.  We can also adjust this trip to be longer if you wish to include a peak descent such as the Mont Blanc or Monte Rosa, or simply just a few more days of skiing.  Note that because some of these routes are very popular, the huts can fill up very fast so it is good to book as early as possible.  Here are some of our favorite tours to give you an idea of where to start.

Bernese Oberland Ski Tour

6 day trip | April 17-22, 2022

Cost $2995 per person

(3-4 participants)

The Swiss Berner Oberland offers some of the most fantastic ski touring opportunities in Europe.  This amazing area of high peaks, many over 4000m, huge glaciers and an extensive system of high mountain huts, makes it a must for any ski touring trip.

Ortler Ski Tour

6 day trip | April 10-15, 2022

Cost $2595 per person

(3-4 participants)

This amazing trip starts in Sulden, which is in the Sud Tirol region of Northern Italy.  It does a look through the Stelvio National Park.  The area contains high alpine terrain and large glaciers, but most of the peaks summit just below 4000 meters.  Because of this slightly lower altitude, the Ortler region doesn’t attract the massive crowds that some of the other ski tours suffer from.

Gran Pardiso Ski Summit

3 day trip | April 2021

Cost from $1885 per person

The Gran Paradiso is the tallest mountain entirely in Italy at 4060m.  It is an ideal introduction to ski mountaineering and a perfect first ski summit.  It is located in the Gran Paradiso National Park, which was the first national park created in Italy.

Ski Mont Blanc Touring Week

7 day trip | April - June 2021

Cost on application

Mont Blanc - The highest mountain in Western Europe, provides a huge draw for many people; winter and summer, to climb to its summit and to ski the mythical North Face back to Chamonix.

Heli-Assisted Mont-Blanc Ski Descent

1 day trip | April - May 2021

Cost on application

Start with a heli bump from Italy to the Piton des Italiens at 4002 m.  From there, we skin and climb up the Dome du Gouter and the Bosses ridge to the summit of Mont Blanc at 4810 m.  We put our skis on at the summit and make an incredible descent down the north face towards the Grands Mullets refuge, across the Jonction of the Glacier des Bossons and all the way to the Plan de l'Aiguille or even straight down to Chamonix if there is enough snow.
