Founded by Doug and Emily Coombs, Steep Skiing Camps Worldwide offers world class steep skiing to a small niche of expert skiers seeking the ultimate adventure. The La Grave Steep Camp is a client favorite.  There is no other place to ski in the world like La Grave.  It is not a ski area.  You simply have one cable car which accesses 7,200 vertical feet of high mountain free-riding bliss.  Every run is an adventure in la grave.  Rarely do you have to hike to reach your descent.  It's hard to imagine, but there is a lifetime of descents to discover right off the single lift.  Long couloirs, glaciers, big steep faces, tree skiing -- La Grave has it all.  The entire week has an educational approach.  You will improve your steep skiing technique and better understand terrain selection, travel techniques and avalanche safety.  This week puts skiing first.  We will not be standing around.  You will learn by doing and skiing the epic lines of La Grave.

    The camp is arranged with 4 clients per guide.  This small group allows for lots of individual attention, and the ability to ski some big runs which would be not possible with a larger group.  We focus on teaching steep skiing and mountaineering techniques.  Although we expect clients to be experienced skiers when they arrive in La Grave, we know that many people do not have experience in real big-mountain terrain.  We cover avalanche safety, glacier travel, rappelling, and other important skills.  It is a fun and adventure filled week.

This includes lodging with breakfast and dinner, lift tickets, rescue insurance, use of safety equipment, and instruction in steep skiing and ski mountaineering techniques by the same guides that Doug and Emily have worked with from the start.
